“H…Hello, Major Kisaragi.”
Noel stared at his hand and pursed her lips. Her eyes narrowed. He was beginning to really sound like her parent commanding her to put her toys away and get ready for bed. Yes, she was being very childish about this, but she couldn’t let ANYONE see this! When he spoke her first name, a rarity for Hazama to call her anything but ‘Vermillion’ or ‘Lieutenant’, her heart dropped. “N…No, Captain! You don’t understand… No one should be able to see this…” Especially not you! I’d never hear the end of it… She heaved a great sigh and tucked it further behind her back before bowing deeply in apology. “I’m sorry, Captain. I-It’s just a personal item I use for… Good luck…” Disobeying his orders, despite it being simple and really unrelated to their work force, was really out of character for her.
When he told her about how he would never be up to something shady, she somehow doubted that… Everything he did and said was shady, up to where he wouldn’t even tell HQ his location most of the time. Noel knew the man was growing impatient with her, but she knew too well he wouldn’t do anything about it. It didn’t seem like the captain was ever interested in spending too much time on one thing, and especially not Noel Vermillion—the one girl everyone really seems to just find annoying.
She stood straight again, and, avoiding any eye contact, continued to fiddle with the object behind her. “May I please go home now…?”
Hazama dropped his hand before placing it back ontop of his hat, obviously less than enthralled at her response. He didn’t have any more time to spend on trying to retrieve the object from her, but he had some sort of idea he’d be seeing it soon in some fashion. He gave a small, but tired smile, “alright, miss Vermillion, as long as you deem it safe, I suppose…”
He stepped out of the way, out into the hallway, shadows crossing his figure and making him look a little more sinister than usual. His tired appearance continued, the soft note of a yawn escaping his tall and lithe figure before giving a nonchalant wave to the other. “If you need me to talk you out, Vermillion, I’ll be around. Give me a shout.” He smiled in the darkness before he walked loud enough for her to be comfortable with. “You know how spooky this place can be at night.”
Hazama’s shoes clapped down the hallway, chased down by a soft hum that vibrated his vocal chords. He didn’t have time to waste on petty things, and as long as they didn’t hinder his plan, he wouldn’t worry about it. He was quite sure they wouldn’t, but he would look into it with Phantom at one point or simply swipe it for himself one night.
Noel’s nerves calmed immensely when Hazama finally decided to throw his hat in on the situation. She was happy he believed and trusted her! “Y-Yes, Captain Hazama… Thank you,” she responded a little too excitedly. She looked away after saying that, surprised her response was a little rude.
Her tense shoulders lowered and she exhaled in relief once he had began to step out the door. She waited a few moments, listening to his footsteps to see how far away he was. When she felt safe enough, the soft yellow light from the room dissipated, leaving the hallway as dark and cold as it was before.
She walked towards the door, barely able to see her retrieved item until she held it towards the moonlight. The young officer beamed happily, looking as if tears were forming in her eyes. She kept her eyes on it while the door came to a click and it locked automatically, the sensor’s light going red again. Her eyes went down the hall, seeing if the man was still around; it was really too dark to tell. Unfortunately, she had to go the same way as him…and it was a little dangerous for her to be walking by herself.
“U-Um…! Captain—!” She stuttered after coming out of her daze, beginning to hurry after him. She tucked the item away quickly into her clothing and the sound of panting matched the clacking of her heels.
“Kyaaa!” Noel screeched as she went flying back and scraped at the pavement. She weakly propped herself up, grimacing at Terumi.
“This…This isn’t o-over!” Scrambling back to her feet, she quickly drew her guns again and fired at him repeatedly from afar. “AND DON’T TALK ABOUT PANDAS!”
“Hahahahahahaha!~” Hazama quickly ran away.
“…”

She glared at him hatefully, eyes glowing with spite. Noel finally strained her arm enough to where it could point at one of the chains. She let a bullet fire and it clashed into the weapon’s head, hopefully making it release her left arm. “L-Let me go!!”
“Oh I’ll let you go alright~” Hazama used Ouroboros to throw Noel at a far distance. Throwing people away is the new way of saying bye. “I hope you find pandas that suit you best!”

She gasped as she saw the multiple chains rushing towards her. As quick as she could, she leapt aside to try and dodge, but it was too late. Her limbs were bound by the weapon within seconds, her skin being pinched by their sharp teeth… She tried desperately to bend her arm to shoot at her bindings.
“Well? You know that isn’t all there is~ I would say it’s more of a preview.”
She glared at him hatefully, eyes glowing with spite. Noel finally strained her arm enough to where it could point at one of the chains. She let a bullet fire and it clashed into the weapon’s head, hopefully making it release her left arm. “L-Let me go!!”
She felt her chest tighten; Noel became a little short of breath. He would actually blackmail me into doing something so small?! Noel squeaked out quietly, unsure of what to say to his cruelty. She gritted her teeth, lips parting slightly as her jaw clenched. The lameness of her office, which she didn’t spend much time in at all these days, seemed to emphasize the exchange between the two militarymen. The girl felt a bit of sweat form at the back of her neck. Finally noticing the burning sensation of her flushed face, her free hand quickly came up and covered her mouth and half of her face to try and hide her reaction. He definitely thinks I am stirring up trouble…
“W-Wait, Captain. I’m not up to anything, if that’s what you’re thinking!” Her eyes stayed on him while she spoke, but then she glanced behind her to what she was holding in her other hand. Whatever it was, she REALLY did not want him to see it… “Please… Don’t do that… You should know me better than that, Captain Hazama…” Maybe pleading a little bit would make him lose interest and guilt him! Maybe… She shuffled her feet slightly, pigeon-toed. Oh! I have an idea! “Hold on a second… Why are you here so late? I-If you don’t mind my asking…” A good distraction might help! Plus she was also pretty curious. If the building was off-limits, why would he be here?
Her green eyes met his face again, though she returned a frown to his fox-like smile. She knew all too well his expressions were creepy and usually never reflected how he was actually feeling. She could still feel her knees shaking weakly.
Hazama turned his palm up to the other, as if demanding a small child to give up a toy. In a way, he felt as if this were true. Noel was acting quite childish at this particular item, and if he had to get people to seize it from her, he would. His face, however, kept it’s usual serpentine smile and widely shut eyes, keeping a tired but playful air around him.
“It certainly looks like it, Noel,” he switched to her first name, much like an adult. Hazama was increasingly feeling like a parent scolding their child for taking something that wasn’t theirs. It wasn’t a good feeling, but more of one of disgust for the snake. “Give it here,” he commanded, curling and unfurling his fingers in a gesture to hurry up and give him the object in question. Hazama was getting impatient, and soon he’d make her give it up by force; he weighed the pros and cons of just simply eating her memories should the event transpire.
“I’m here because I needed to finish some work up. You could call it overtime,” he chuckled softly, pressing his fingers to his lips once more. “Why would I, of all people, be doing something shady? I hunt the shady guys down,” Hazama laughed once more, pressing his finger to his face to tilt his head.

What…What did you ‘upgrade’…?” Her eyes went wide with worry, keeping her distance from him. Was she going to be okay in this fight?
“Just as I thought~” He threw Ouroboros at her, but only this time, the chain made another duplicate chain and Ouroboros…
I will set this up soon, I promise.
Any good BlazBlue roleplayers out there, though?
HI!

Everything was fine now… With this precious item finally in her hands, she felt safe and secure. She exhaled gently and slowly, her fingers playing with it behind her back in attempts to calm herself down. She closed her eyes and breathed again. That wasn’t so bad…
Around her office, it was very bland. The bookcase had only books of education and law, piling up from floor to ceiling. Her desk was covered in paperwork, but stacked nicely with a pen holder and a picture frame—the frame was faced other way and out of sight from anyone else, but Noel treasured it as a photo of her family. The floor lamp with its green lampshade and gold trim stood in the left corner of the room near a small round, empty table. There were dark curtains to match the lamp covering the back window, with golden ropes hanging at their sides so that maybe tomorrow they could be opened and clear out the bad taste from this night.
She almost jumped at his request, eyes going wide. “W-What? See it…?” How humiliating! Her entire face went completely red, flushed with embarrassment, but that was only in her judgement—Hazama knew absolutely nothing about what was going on… And she hoped he wouldn’t try to find out. “It’s not…going to hurt anyone…I-I promise!” Noel would try to leave now, if he wasn’t blocking the doorway… “C-Can I please leave now, Captain?” She gently pushed herself off the desk, ceasing leaning and taking a very vague step towards him.
Hazama’s head tilted, fingers gracing the doorway as he allowed his hand to drop from his mouth. He wondered if the lack of of expression in her office was from training with the NOL or her own subconscious desire to keep herself distant from both Jin and the place. In either case, he focused slightly on the frame with it’s picture hidden with an idea of what the photo in question contained. It was simply normal to have a picture of someone’s family to remember what you were working for in this dreaded place.
The golden decor slightly caught his hidden eyes — he had a penchant for catching the yellowish color, not just because his eyesight was almost too good but because the color matched his serpentine eyes — before he settled his closed eyes on Noel herself. A curious light brightened his already nearly bleach white skin, long, lithe fingers grasping his chin as he bent at the waist to peer at her hand.
“It can’t be that bad, can it? Just show me.” He smiled wider, as if in warning. “You know, Miss Vermillion, if you don’t show me… well, I could say it’s a terrorist weapon. You know the NOL takes those very seriously, especially from the Captain of Intelligence, no?” At the word “no”, the snake tilted his head. It was an obscenely mocking and almost robotic gesture, as if he thought she was a little kid. “So I would rather be safe than sorry, you get me?”
She felt her chest tighten; Noel became a little short of breath. He would actually blackmail me into doing something so small?! Noel squeaked out quietly, unsure of what to say to his cruelty. She quickly retrieved her Bolverk and took an offensive stance. “I won’t forgive you!!”
“Bring it!” He brings out Ouroboros roughly. “Oh, it ain’t the same Ouroboros you’ve fought with before, it’s different this time. Relius upgraded it, so I will have to try out a few things he did.”
“Eh? What…What did you ‘upgrade’…?” Her eyes went wide with worry, keeping her distance from him. Was she going to be okay in this fight?
